Bird 8400ST Ventilator Features

The Bird 8400ST is a Volume Ventilator that is electronically controlled by a microprocessor. The Pneumatic device can be used on a wide range of patients ranging from pediatric to adults. The Bird 8400ST comes with a standard main processor for the ventilation of the machine but also comes with a flow valve control processor and a display/exhalation valve control processor. The combination of these processors and valves allows the ventilator to process the breath rate timing and volume along with the flow. Gases that are delivered to the patient also include blended gasses from external sources that can be added to the machine via blenders. Blenders must be able to deliver a flow in excess of 75 lpm, with a range of 35- 75 PSIG.

  • Selectable ventilation modes for control, assist/control, SIMV, and CPAP.
  • Apnea backup ventilation with user-adjustable apnea interval from 10 to 60 seconds.
  • Wide range of ventilator rates and tidal volumes.
  • Digital display for total breath rate, tidal volume, minute volume, and I: E ratio.
  • Square and decelerating waveform selection.
