People With Two Different Eyes Have Heterochromia

Have you ever seen a person who has two different colored eyes? One blue, and one is brown? This is heterochromia. Heterochromia is the full or partial expression of two genes at the same time. This can occur in eye color, skin, or hair. There are a few types. Complete heterochromia is two separate eyes being different colors.  Lastly, Segmental heterochromia is when one eye has two colors in it.

Causes

The main reason heterochromia happens is the 8-HTP pathway of melanin. Melanin is responsible for the pigmentation of our skin, as well as our eyes. Not enough genetic diversity causes this affliction. Concluding, this may be caused by genetics,  chimerism, or a disease.
