The CoaguChek S System was developed for quantitative prothrombin time (PT) testing of fresh capillary blood or venous whole blood. The CoaguChek S System makes coagulation testing easy. Just turn the monitor on, insert a test strip, and apply a sample when directed. Results are displayed within approximately 1 minute of the sample application. After testing, the monitor stores results in memory.
The CoaguChek S System allows coagulation testing with a fingerstick capillary blood sample or non-anticoagulated venous whole blood.
Prothrombin time testing helps physicians monitor their patients on oral anticoagulation therapy in order to adjust their medication levels to the prescribed therapeutic or target range.
