Masimo Radical 7 Features
The Radical-7 is a noninvasive monitor that measures arterial oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and perfusion index, along with optional measurements of hemoglobin (SpHb), carboxyhemoglobin, total oxygen content, methemoglobin, Pleth Variability Index, Oxygen Reserve Index, Acoustic Respiration Rate, and Pleth Respiration Rate. It features a “gold standard” Masimo SET Pulse Oximeter, proven in more than 100 independent and objective studies to provide the most accurate and reliable SpO2 readings during motion and low perfusion.
The upgradable Masimo Rainbow SET technology platform lets you add total hemoglobin (SpHb™) and oxygen content (SpOC™) through simple field-installed software upgrades.
Additional upgrades allow you to continuously and non-invasively measure carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO), methemoglobin (SpMet), and PVI™. Linked to improved care and reduced medical errors. Enhanced probe-off detection with Rainbow sensors. Color display allows immediate differentiation of critical measurements.
The Masimo Radical & Pulse Oximeter offers these Features:
- Trending -Provides 72 hours of trending at a 2-second resolution for greater than 10 days at a 10-second resolution of SpO2, SpHb, SpOC, SpMet, SpCO, Pulse Rate, RRa, and Perfusion Index with output to a serial printer or other serial devices.
- Alarms– Audible and visual alarms for high low saturation and pulse rate (SpO2 range 1 – 99%, SpCO range 1 – 98%, SpMet range 1 – 99.5%, SpHb range 1 – 24.5 g/dL, RRa range 4 – 70 breaths per minute, PI range 0.03 – 19%, PVI range 1 – 99%, pulse rate range 30 – 235 BPM).
- Change Display Parameters – With a quick touch, drag, and drop, clinicians can move any parameter to and from the center and bottom of the display, never losing track of any vital signs.
- Analyse Patient Trends – The instant-trend feature provides the ability to view one or two parameters at once and with a simple finger feature, clinicians can move to expand or collapse parameter trends for real-time analysis.
- Wireless Connectivity – Standard wireless connectivity from integrated 802.11 and Bluetooth technology in the handheld Radical-7 keeps patients connected even while they are ambulating to enable clinician notification automate charting and enable meaningful use of electronic health record systems.
- 3D Alarm System Option – Desat Index Alarm™ enables clinicians to detect an increasing quantity of smaller desaturations that may precede declining respiratory status
- PI Delta Alarm™ alerts clinicians to specified changes in perfusion, often a reliable indicator of illness severity
- Signal IQ – As the plethysmograph waveform gets corrupted with motion, the Signal IQ indicator shows the location of the pulse, while the height of the vertical bar indicates the quality of the values displayed. When the signal quality is compromised during excessive motion, a “Low Signal IQ” message is displayed.
