Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
Soma Tech Intl offers new, demo, and refurbished SCDs up to 50% below OEM prices with the same service and warranty as new. A Sequential compression device is used mostly for DVT prevention. DVT, or deep vein thrombosis, occurs when a blood clot develops in one of the deep veins in the body. Without treatment, DVT can cause a potentially life-threatening condition called PE, or pulmonary embolism. This is when the clot breaks off and travels to the lungs. Compression devices can be used on patients to treat DVT and PE. Attached to the SCD are tubes connected to sleeves that get wrapped around the legs or feet. Once wrapped, they inflate one at a time which imitates walking and helps promote blood flow. This increases blood flow and helps prevent blood clots. Are you or your facility interested in an SCD machine rental?
Here are Soma Technology, we pride ourselves on only providing the best SCDs from top manufacturers like Covidien, and Kendall. Some of these newer compression devices can deliver to the foot and the legs together. They also can measure venous refill time using vascular refill detection technology to help customize cycles automatically.
