The GE OEC 9800 Plus C-Arm is a mobile c-arm that was designed with a variety of X-ray applications in mind. Soma of these applications includes pain management, orthopedic, vascular, neurovascular, and cardiac surgeries. The OEC 9800 offers x-ray technology with a touch screen system with low X-ray dosages and a 15kW generator. The 9800 Plus offers 1K x 1K high-resolution images, along with GE's image intelligence technology providing extraordinary crisp and clear images. Another GE C-arm is the GE OEC 9900 Elite C-Arm .
Smart window technology dynamically sense the collimator position and automatically adjusts the sampling windows size to optimize the image quality further.
Smart Metal is a unique innovation from GE. After Smart Metal is initialized, optimized image resolutions are maintained even with the introduction of metal objects into the X-ray imaging field.
During live fluoroscopy procedures it is important to keep maximum visibility regardless of the patient's anatomy moves. With the introduction of AutoTrak, the sampling window automatically moves with the anatomy, ensuring excellent images regardless of collimation or centering. If the subject anatomy moves within the field of view, AutoTrak will maintain the correct exposure, even if the anatomy moves to the edge of the imaging field or is improperly collimated.

The intuitive touchscreen on the GE OEC 9800 C- Arm simplifies operation. Simply plug in the system and turn it on. The patient annotation screen is ready to receive information. To fluoro, select the desired imaging modes, then simply press the X-ray exposure switch on the remote hand control, mainframe, or foot pedal control. The OEC 9800 Plus automatically sets all imaging parameters to obtain the optimum image, even in a roadmap and subtraction procedures.
The 9800 Plus can address a vast range of clinical, surgical, and vascular applications where you need it. From the ER, OR, ICU, or Pain Management Clinician you can leverage the strength and clinical versatility of the OEC 9800.
The OEC 9800 Plus is available with an integrated DICOM 3.0 interface that connects to a hospital’s network system.
There are three different C-arm configurations available with the GE OEC 9800 Plus. The standard C-arm has a 9” (23 cm) image intensifier attached. A slightly larger C-arm is used to support a 12” 31 cm) image intensifier and the Super C-arm is visibly larger than standard C-arms. The Super C-arm does not have an L-arm. Both the 9” and 12” image intensifier C-arms have L-arms which aid in the radial rotation positioning. Due to the large size of the Super C-arm, the Super C does not need an L-arm and only rotates radially on the horizontal cross-arm.
The 9 and 12” C-arm configurations provide 115 degrees of orbital rotation (90 degrees underscan and 20 degrees overscan). The back of these C-arms is marked with a scale to help accurately position the C-arm in an exact location. The Super C-arm can be rotated a total of 148 degrees (55 degrees overscan and 93 degrees underscan).
The Flip-Flop Rotation provides increased versatility in positioning the X-ray tube and image intensifier by allowing them to reverse their positions laterally. The C-arm pivots from 0 to 180 degrees in one direction and from 0 to 90 degrees in the opposite direction.
The L-arm on the 9 and 12” C-arm configurations rotates 180 degrees in either direction for a total of 360 degrees. There is an L-arm rotation indicator on the back of the L-arm which shows the degree of the L-arm rotation. The Super C-arm configuration can be rotated radially a total of 380 degrees on the C-arm support axis. This Super C-arm configuration helps give ultimate positioning capabilities.
Of the many positioning capabilities of the OEC* 9800 Plus C-arm, there is also a vertical column that is used to elevate the C-arm to a maximum of 18”. There is a scale located on that column to help give more precise imaging. On top of the control panel, the vertical column motor is actuated by pressing the vertical column extension or retraction switches.
Using the horizontal cross-arm you are able to position the C-arm forward to a maximum of 8”. To position the C-arm horizontally you must release the cross-arm brake by placing the brake handle in the position identified by the “unlock” icon. Push or pull the cross-arm to the desired position and use the centimeter scale to get a more precise position. You then lock the cross-arm brake by placing the brake handle in the position identified by the “lock” icon.
If those weren’t enough positions then here is the one more. The OEC 9800 can move side to side in a “Wig-Wag” movement. The total distance traveled from side to side is dependent on whether the horizontal cross-arm is extended or retracted.
