Leica M525 OH4 Features

The Leica M525 OH4 offers up to 470 mm working distance, 30% greater depth of focus and light intensity than earlier Leica systems. Its dual 300W xenon sources, BrightCare, and AutoIris provide illumination while preventing tissue burns. The six-axis balancing, robotic X/Y movement, and extended overhead reach allow for positioning with minimal floor space.

  • OptiChrome Optics: 207–470 mm working distance, 6:1 motorized zoom, and 1.2×–12.8× magnification for sharp, bright, high-contrast images.
  • Dual Xenon Illumination: two independent 300W xenon arc lamps, with an optional 400W upgrade.
  • BrightCare and AutoIris Safety: lowers light intensity as working distance decreases (by up to 60%) and narrows the illumination field to match the zoom.
  • True Auto-Balance: single button balances all six axes, and the AC/BC button lets staff re-balance during surgery.
  • Robotic X/Y Movement: Motorized tilt and inclination controlled by a precision joystick, foot control or mouth switch.
  • Open Architecture Integration: The DI C500 dual imaging module projects MRI, CT, IGS, and endoscope images into the eyepieces, and the system supports FL800 ICG and FL400 5-ALA fluorescence.

Leica M525 OH4 Refurbishment Process

Soma Tech Intl offers the Leica M525 OH4 surgical microscope at up to 50% below OEM pricing, while providing the same service and warranty as a new unit. Each M525 OH4 microscope undergoes technical and cosmetic refurbishment to support reliable optical performance and visualization during surgical procedures. During refurbishment, our in-house biomedical engineers, experienced in surgical visualization equipment, carefully inspect and test the Leica M525 OH4. Components that do not meet the required performance standards, including optical assemblies, illumination systems, focusing and magnification mechanisms, suspension arms, control interfaces, and electrical systems, are repaired or replaced using OEM-quality parts as appropriate.

After technical refurbishment, the Leica M525 OH4 surgical microscope undergoes detailed cosmetic restoration. The system is thoroughly cleaned, cosmetic wear is addressed, exterior surfaces are refinished as needed, and labels or decals are replaced when required. Once refurbishment is complete, we prepare the Leica M525 OH4 for final quality control inspection. Soma Tech Intl operates an ISO 13485 certified facility, following quality management practices for refurbished medical equipment. If you are interested in purchasing a refurbished Leica M525 OH4 surgical microscope, contact Soma at soma@somatechnology.com or call 1-800-438-7662.
