This has been a pretty subjective question in recent years. Before, it would socially mean anyone who had fathered a child who was male. Today, it can mean a wide range of people from any male figures who raised you, to also celebrating those in your life who were like fathers but have passed. Other people have different definitions of what it means to be a father, and anyone’s interpretation is okay!
