Today is Rare Disease Day. Befitting, especially since it is the last day of the shortest month. Rare diseases are considered rare because they affect a very small percentage of the population. These diseases will affect less than 200,000 people.
Types of Rare Diseases
There are a multitude of rare diseases that have been discovered. A disease happens when there is a mutation in the genetic code of DNA. Unfortunately, we cannot cover all of the rare diseases in one blog post.
