Stryker Gaymar Medi Therm III
February 8, 2017Heater and Cooler Systems are designed to help regulate a patient’s body temperature. The system ranges from heating to cooling and temperature needs for patients. The FDA describes, “Heater-cooler devices are often necessary for use during surgeries to warm or cool patients as part of their care. They are especially important tools for surgeries involving the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other chest organs.” The temperature controls ensure that blood continues to circulate through the body to vital organs. These machines are used in a variety of medical settings, but notably for cardiovascular purposes.
One specific Heater/Cooler is the Stryker Gaymar Medi-Therm III Hyper/Hypothermia System. According to Stryker, the Medi-Therm, “helps regulate patient temperature through a state-of-the-art microprocessor control. Separate heating and cooling reservoirs deliver rapid thermal response. The rate-controlled warming option allows caregivers to progressively increase temperature and reliably stabilize patient temperature at a selected set point.” These features of the noninvasive procedure include: dual temperature, safety precautions, rate controlled temperature, six control options, LED screen, and body wraps.
