Of course sometimes we can’t get enough sleep due to working, taking care of our families, extracurriculars, previous engagements, or honestly just stress and anxiety. Why Do People Need to Sleep?
Science says that the reason people need sleep, is because we get sleepy. There are many research studies being done into the necessity of catching Z’s. So far, scientists know that during sleep, the body regenerates and takes care of its essential bodily functions. Sleep’s reparative qualities can mostly be seen when we are sick, and the more rest we get, the faster our bodies can recuperate.
What Are the Benefits of Sleeping?
The benefits to sleeping are that it helps us get over being sick, and it helps to regenerate cells. Bodybuilders know the importance of rest when it comes to maintaining muscle integrity.
Tips on Falling Asleep
- Make your bed somewhere you want to be
- Invest in comfy and soft sheets, blankets, and pillows
- Turn off your phone an hour before bed – blue light makes the brain believe it is still day time
- Put on some soothing music
- Use a Himalayan salt rock lamp
- Wear a sleep mask
- Take melatonin
- Eating well
- Avoiding caffeine
- Sleeping with a fan on
- Weighted blankets are becoming popular
- Avoid alcohol
