ConMed System 5000 Electrosurgical Unit
May 31, 2018ConMed System 5000 Electrosurgical Unit
Electrosurgical units are ubiquitously found in all operating rooms, and surgery centers. The ESU works by emitting heat as electricity from radio frequency, which coagulates, and cuts tissue. The ConMed System 5000 is a great choice for an ESU. Soma Technology only stocks products from the best original equipment manufacturers in the healthcare products market.
ConMed 5000 ESU Features
The Conmed 5000 has many features. There is of course general mode which is used in almost all open procedures. Fluid mode is a quick start up that is used in urology and arthroscopy. Laparoscopic mode will limit the output voltage to minimize potentially harmful effects of capacitive coupling and insulation breakdown. Other features that are standard include pulse cut, pulse coag, bipolar output meter, and automatic return monitoring for electrode contact.
ConMed 5000 Specifications
This system is specified for both monopolar and bipolar cuts. Monopolar electrosurgery is when the electrode pad is attached to the patient which creates a seamless path for the electrodes. Bipolar electrosurgery uses a different path that can be used on people who have intra-body devices. A convection fan is included. This ESU weighs a little less than 10 pounds and is easily transported between operating rooms.
