In today’s medical field, there are many reasons for the use and application of a bladder scan system. A bladder scan is a portable hand-held ultrasound device that non-invasively measures the urine volume in the bladder. Bladder scanners such as the Verathon BladderScan Prime Plus are often widely used.

Continue reading further to learn more about the unique features the BladderScan Prime Plus can offer.

WHAT IS A BLADDER SCANNER?

bladder scanner has an ultrasound probe and transducer that bounces safe, painless sound waves off organs to create an image of their structure. The bladder scan can give information about the bladder wall, diverticula (pouches) of the bladder, bladder stones, and large tumors within the bladder. The use of a bladder scan often eliminates the risks associated with unnecessary catheterization, does not require operation by a sonographer, and helps prevent unnecessary invasive procedures.

This ultrasound procedure is also referred to as bladder scanning or BladderScan, which is the brand name of a popular system known as the BladderScan Prime Plus.

INTRODUCTION TO THE VERATHON BLADDERSCAN PRIME PLUS

The Verathon BladderScan Prime Plus is a 3D ultrasound system that noninvasively measures bladder volume. The bladder scanner offers pre and post-scan aim-assist features as clinical guidance to optimize performance. The core component of the system is its console with a colored LCD touchscreen that displays patient data, images, and graphics of the patient’s bladder. It’s unique ImageSense Technology that provides groundbreaking accuracy, a streamlined workflow, and a durable industrial design makes the Prime Plus a highly requested system amongst urologists and other medical professionals.

BLADDERSCAN PRIME PLUS FEATURES

The Bladderscan Prime Plus primary feature is a touch-screen display that allows you to perform scans, manage scan results, and customize settings. Therefore it provides controls for adjusting brightness, and volume, activating the system, or enabling the standby mode. A rechargeable battery is inserted into one side of the console, and the other side features a selection of parts for connecting system components and accessories such as external, removable media storage devices. You may also customize your console by adding an optional printer, attaching the console base, or mounting the console on a mobile cart.

The probe contacts the patient and transmits and receives ultrasound waves, automatically moving its internal transducer to scan twelve planes to produce a three-dimensional image of the bladder. The probe is attached to the console by a cable. After a scan, the probe displays bladder volume and aiming.

  • ImageSense deep learning technology automatically calculates the 3D volume
  • Enhanced EdgeScan off-central scan alerts
  • Pioneering public bone interference indicator
  • Onboard tutorial and integrated help screen
  • Customizable saved scans function to recall, print, and transfer saved exams
  • 12 BMODE-slice review
  • No sonographer required
  • Time-efficient, one-step automated volume results
