October is nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. About 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, according to breastcancer.org. Shockingly, Connecticut has the highest density of any state, for a population living with breast cancer. The only way to protect yourself is getting mammograms and a healthy lifestyle.
