Incubators are usually found in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), which specializes in the care of ill or premature newborns. Neonatal is a word referred to as the first 28 days of life. An incubator is a piece of equipment that is used to maintain environmental conditions suitable for a newborn baby. Incubators can be used for oxygenation, observation, protection from temperatures, infections, noise,  drafts, provision of nutrition through an intravenous catheter or NG tube, administration of medications, or maintaining a fluid balance by providing humidity.

The Drager Isolette 8000 ensures that the thermo-neutral zone is maintained while allowing the clinician to monitor both the core and peripheral body temperature. The Isolette 8000 incorporates an elaborate PID algorithm, that keeps the baby in a stable environment with advanced thermoregulation. This incubator allows easy access to the baby by offering a convenient height adjustment system. It also features dual air curtains and preemptive regulation mechanisms to help maintain a virtually stable environment when accessing the baby.

Incubator Refurbishment Process

When we procure a Drager Isolette 8000 Incubator, it comes to our facility and is inspected and tested. While running diagnostics and testing the Isolette 8000, parts are replaced if necessary before starting the calibration process. Once every part of the machine is in working order, it is calibrated which brings it back to OEM specifications. After the calibration, the Isolette is finally working the way it left the original manufacturer.

Now it’s time for the special cosmetic restoration process. The external housing of the incubator is disassembled and pieces are sanded and repainted to repair any visual defects. Before this incubator is packaged, it is reassembled and undergoes a final inspection and quality control check. After completing the QC, it is carefully packaged up and ready for shipment.
